Lyrics

My heart is drifting southwardTo my home down in the seaTo the isle of St HelenaWhere my loved ones wait for meLong since I left itBut I'll soon be going homeTo my St Helena islandAnd swear I'll never roam

Diamonds they are prettySo is your fancy carsBut St Helena islandIs much prettier by farAll the wonders of this worldI'm told they number sevenBut St Helena IslandIs the nearest one to heaven

Diamonds they are prettySo is your fancy carsBut St Helena islandIs much prettier by farSomeday if the Lord aboveComes out of heaven's gate I'm sure He'll pick St HelenaAnd use it as His place
