Musasi is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film[1] directed by debutant Sam Rodrigues and produced by Joy Filmbox Entertainment. The film stars Prabhu Deva in the titular role, alongside Leona Lishoy, VTV Ganesh, John Vijay, Binu Pappu and Mahendran.
The film was officially announced in September 2021, without any title, and the official title was announced in February 2022. Principal photography commenced the former month. It is currently being shot spoardically in several legs, with filming locations include Kodaikanal, Munnar, Chennai and Sri Lanka. The film has music composed by Leander Lee Marty, cinematography handled by Vignesh Vasu and editing by Antony.
On 27 September 2021, John Britto's Joy Filmbox Entertainment announced their project featuring Prabhu Deva in the lead role and Sam Rodrigues as the director, in his debut. The muhurat puja being held the same day in Chennai, the film's cast and crew was revealed by their inclusion in the puja.[2] It was shot in Kodaikanal, Munnar, Chennai and Sri Lanka.[3] [4] [5] In the following February, Mahendran was announced joining the cast.[6] [7] The film's official title, Musasi (named after Musashi), was revealed the same month.[8]

The music and background score is composed by Leander Lee Marty, in his first collaboration with Deva. The audio rights were acquired by Saregama. The first single "Starlight" was released on 21 March 2024.[9]
