The Musa Awards (Spanish:) are awards presented by Ibero Americana Radio Chile, a subsidiary of the Spanish group PRISA to recognize "the best musical releases" in the music industry in Chile.[1]
The Musa Awards had their origin in an innitiative led by Ibero Americana Radio Chile and its ten national radio stations in Chile. They were created to honor the "best of Chilean and international music within the year."[1] [2]
The statuette was designed by the Chilean artist Norton Maza, inspired by the muses in ancient Greek culture.[3]
Currently, there are fourteen categories along with a special award for lifetime achievement.
