Mountain View is a hamlet in Alberta, Canada within Cardston County. It is located along Highway 5 approximately 25km (16miles) west of Cardston and 20km (10miles) east of Waterton Lakes National Park near the United States border. It is also a kickoff point for visitors to Police Outpost Provincial Park, 18 kilometers to the south.
The hamlet is located in Census Division No. 3 and in the federal riding of Medicine Hat—Cardston—Warner. It is administered by Cardston County. It was originally named Fish Creek and named Mountain View in 1893.[1]
In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Mountain View had a population of 87 living in 29 of its 34 total private dwellings, a change of from its 2016 population of 90. With a land area of, it had a population density of in 2021.[2]
