Moqavemat (Persian: مقاومت) is a city in the Central District of Khorramshahr County, Khuzestan province, Iran.[2] The city's name translates as "resistance," a reference to the Iran–Iraq War. Moqavemat is adjacent to Khorramshahr.
After the 2016 National Census, the former Kut-e Sheykh neighborhood of the city of Khorramshahr was elevated to the status of the city of Moqavemat.[2]
