Moondru Mudichu is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language television series starring Swathi Konde, Niyas Khan and Preethi Sanjiv. This serial is a family story about Sundaravalli (Preethi Sanjiv) and her son Suryakumar (Niyaz Khan) and Nandini (Swathi Konde), whose lives were changed after an unexpected marriage.[1]
This series is directed by Nanthan C. Muthiah and produced by Sun Entertainment and AR Film World. It premiered on 19 August 2024, and airs from Monday to Saturday at 8:30 PM on Sun TV and also available on the digital platform Sun NXT.
Nandini, a strong-willed girl of a middle-class single father, lives in a village. She is well liked and places her family's happiness above hers. Suryakumar is irresponsible and hates his mother. His rich joint family members have different thoughts. He resents his mother and deliberately bonds with Nandini to cause strife. On Surya and Archana's wedding day, Surya forcibly marries Nandini.[2] But they don't accept each other as husband and wife. The story revolves around Nandini's life in Suryakumar's joint family.
The series was announced as a part of Sun TV's six upcoming series[3] slate of content in April 2024. The series is directed by Nanthan C. Muthiah. AR Productions produces the show. Initially, the title of the serial was named 'Devathai'[4] and 'Vaaranam Aayiram'.[5] [6] [7] After some reasons the first promo was released in the name of as 'Moondru Mudichu' on 31 July 2024.
Actress Swathi Konde was cast as Nandini.[8] This marks Swathi Konde's return to Tamil television after Eeramana Rojave 2.[9] Preethi Sanjiv was cast as Sundaravalli. Niyaz Khan was cast as the male lead Surya. Niyaz to act in this series, he was left the series Sandakozhi which aired on Zee Tamil.
In September, Dharshna Sripal Golecha was cast as Archana, making her third collaboration with Sun TV after Chithi 2 and Poova Thalaya.[10] The same month Tamil film director Agathiyan was cast as Archana's father.[11]
The first promo was unveiled on 31 July 2024,[12] which gave a brief insight in Nandini's lives. The second promo was unveiled on 13 August 2024, featuring Surya's family and also revealing the upcoming release date. The serial was released on 19 August 2024, replacing Vanathai Pola in its 8:30 PM slot on Sun TV.[13] [14]
