Montemno Lake (Bulgarian: езеро Монтемно|ezero Montemno, in Bulgarian pronounced as /ˈɛzɛro monˈtɛmno/) is the 190 m long in southeast–northwest direction and 70 m wide lake on eastern Byers Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It has a surface area of 0.96 ha and drains northwards into Barclay Bay by way of Bedek Stream.[1]

The feature is named after the ancient Roman road station of Montemno in Northern Bulgaria.[1]

Location

Montemno Lake is situated just west of Urvich Wall and centred at -62.6447°N -60.9714°W, which is 230 m northeast of the larger Oread Lake, 3 km northeast of Dometa Point and 3.25 km south of Nedelya Point. Detailed Spanish mapping in 1992, and Bulgarian mapping of the area in 2009 and 2017.
