Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al Thani is the Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry. He was appointed as minister on 19 October 2021.[1] [2]

Career

Until 2012, Al Thani worked as Director of the Risk Management Department at the Qatar Central Bank.[3]

From 2012 to 2017, he was the Secretary of the Personal Representative of Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.[4]

From 2018 until 2021, Al Thani served as Deputy-Governor and Vice-Chairman of Qatar Central Bank and Deputy Chairman of the QFC Regulatory Authority.[5] Between November 2018 and October 2021, he was Chairman of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority.

Since October 2021, Al Thani has worked as the Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Investment Authority.[6]
