Michael Ruane is an American semi-amateur midstakes[1] poker player who has cashed four times in the World Cham-pionship Series Main Event including two final tables. His first camein 2016 inwith a fourth-place finish for $2,567,003;[2] his second came in2017 inwith a tenth place for $825,001;[3] his third came in 2022 (147thplace) for $62,500;[4] while his fourth, a 545th-place finish for $32,500,[4] came in 2023.

Ruane experienced a subset of poker tactics by watching poker on TV andplaying home games with friends and his twin brother — although it was hisyounger brother Sean who would become Ruane's poker companion with Ruane and Sean now living in New Jersey together.[5] [6]
