The Mexican Insurgent Army (EIM) was a short-lived far-left Guerrilla group, and existed between 1968 and 1969, in the Lacandon Jungle region of Chiapas.^[3] by left-wing newspaper editor Mario Menéndez and Ignacio González Ramírez.^{[4] [5]} Ignacio González was in charge of the urban cell of the group called the Revolutionary Struggle Committee .^{[6] [7]}

Mario Menéndez wrote the left-wing magazine called, Por Que?.^{[8] [9]}

History

The EIM was founded in 1968 by members and students who were a part of the Mexican Movement of 1968, originating from Mexico City, Nuevo Leon, Veracruz and Yucatan.^[10]
