Mettray (in French pronounced as /mɛtʁɛ/) is a commune in the Indre-et-Loire department in central France. The Mettray Penal Colony was opened there in 1839.
The inhabitants are called Mettrayens in French. The commune La Membrolle-sur-Choisille was created in 1873 from part of Mettray.
