Mera Saathi (My Companion) is a 1985 Hindi-language action-drama film, produced by K. Kesava Rao under the Sree Brahmarambika Films banner and directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. It stars Jeetendra, Jaya Prada, Rajiv Kapoor, Mandakini in the pivotal roles and music composed by Bappi Lahiri. The film is a remake of the Telugu movie Dharmaatmudu (1983).[1] [2]
Ranga is a ruffian whose life changes with the sudden entry of an unbeknownst Ragini. Later, he realizes that she has fled from the house to avoid forcibly knitting with a rogue Bansi Das. Ranga shields and nuptial her. Soon, Ragini reforms Ranga into a good soul and they are blessed with a girl Shanti. Years roll by and Ranga turns into a millionaire with his strive. Here Shanti loves Shyam, an acolyte of Bansi Das. Being cognizant of it, Ranga denies their espousal. Hence, Shanti wedlock Shyam without her father’s approval when she is subjected to punishment. Ergo, Ranga surrenders his entire wealth to Shyam and quits with Ragini. Forthwith, Shyam is backstabbed and seized by Bansi Das when Ranga courageously secures him. Finally, Shyam pleads to pardon, and the family is reunited.
