Melawondi is a rural locality in the Gympie Region, Queensland, Australia.[1] It is located 20km (10miles) south of Gympie. In the, Melawondi had a population of 34 people.
Melawondi railway station is an abandoned railway station on the Mary Valley railway line (-26.4119°N 152.6605°W).[2]
The locality takes its name from a former railway station. Melawondi is believed to be the name of an Aboriginal clan.
In October 2013, Hyne Timber sold their Melawondi timber mill to Superior Wood Pty Ltd.[3]
