Melanoides victoriae explained

Melanoides victoriae is a species of a freshwater snail, a gastropod in the Thiaridae family.^[1]

Distribution

The type locality is "the rapids above the Victoria Falls of the Zambezi", Zambezi River at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.^[1]

Melanoides victoriae is endemic to Southern Africa, and the species distribution includes:

• Botswana^[2]
• South Africa^[1]
• Zambezi River, Zimbabwe^[1]
• East Caprivi and Okavango River in north-eastern Namibia^[1]
• Cunene River^[1]

Description

The width of the shell is 10 mm.^[1] The height of the shell is 29 mm.^[1]
