Megasphaera Explained

Megasphaera should not be confused with Magosphaera.

Megasphaera is a genus of Bacillota bacteria classified within the class Negativicutes.

This classification has been reexamined.^[1] It appears that this genus is a member of the Clostridia.__TOC__

Phylogeny

The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)^[2] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)^[3]

• "M. vaginalis" Bordigoni et al. 2020 non Srinivasan et al. 2021
