Maul's searsid explained

Maul's searsid (Maulisia mauli), also called Maul's tubeshoulder,[1] is a species of fish in the family Platytroctidae (tubeshoulders), named for Günther Maul.[2] [3] [4]

Description

Maul's searsid is maximum long and is black in colour, with a pointed snout.[5] Photophores are weakly developed; a lateral line is present.[6] Its thoracic photophore is a horizontal bar.[7] [8]

Habitat

Maul's searsid is mesopelagic and bathypelagic,[9] living in the Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean at depths of, usually at ; it is found on seamounts.[10] [11] [12]
