Matanui Explained

Matanui is a genus of triplefin blennies (family Tripterygiidae), they are endemic to New Zealand.

Etymology

The name Matanui is derived from the Māori words mata meaning "eye" and nui meaning "large", a reference to its large eyes.[1]
