Matějov is a municipality and village in Žďár nad Sázavou District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 200 inhabitants.
Matějov is located about 6km (04miles) southwest of Žďár nad Sázavou and 24km (15miles) northeast of Jihlava. It lies in the Křižanov Highlands. The highest point is at 632m (2,073feet) above sea level. The Oslava River originates in the municipal territory.
A notable body of water is the Matějovský Pond with an area of . The large Veselský Pond is located just beyond the municipal border.[2]
The first written mention of Matějov is from 1366.[3]
There are no railways or major roads passing through the municipality.
Matějov is poor in monuments. The only protected cultural monuments are a stone cross from 1828 and a Baroque calvary.[4]
The main landmark of Matějov is the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. It was built in 1907–1908.[3]
