Marvin Stinson is an American boxer.[2] He won the Silver Medal at the 1974 World Championships and in 1976 Won the AAU National Title, he scored a notable amateur victories over Future Heavyweight World Champion John Tate and competed professionally from 1977 to 1982. He was undefeated (12-0-3) until he faced future two time Heavyweight Champion Tim Witherspoon.

Life and career

Stinson was born in North Philadelphia. He began boxing at the Police Athletic League.[3]

Stinson competed at the 1974 World Amateur Boxing Championships, winning the silver medal in the heavyweight event. He also won four Golden Gloves titles in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[4]
