Maurizio Martusciello (born 2 September, 1961)[1] known professionally as Martux_m is an Italian electronic musician, producer and composer.
Born in Naples in 1961, in the early 1980s he attended the Liceo Musicale in Naples and studied percussion.
He has produced numerous musical projects, including in 2009 About in a Silent way, an original electronic reinterpretation of Miles Davis' famous album,[2] in 2010 the audiovisual installation with Mattia Casalegno Il gesto sospeso for the Roberto Capucci Foundation,[3] in 2017 the audiovisual project Intervallo for the Italian Embassy in Sofia,[4] in 2019 Apollo 11 Reloaded for Italian Space Agency (ASI), an electronic orchestration for the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11.[5]
The collaboration with Italian institutions abroad has resulted in the production of some specific projects such as Intervallo with Mattia Casalegno in 2017 for the Embassy of Italy in Sofia,[6] and EKO with Lello Petrarca in 2023 for the Permanent Mission of Italy to OSCE in Vienna.[7]
He has participated to some of the most important festivals of Electronic music such as the MUTEK Festival, Sonar Festival, Romaeuropa Festival and AltaRoma Festival. In 2004 he has also performed at the Villette Numérique in Paris and at the Biennale Musica in Venice.
Maurizio Martusciello has performed and collaborated with musicians and groups such as Michiko Hirayama, Wolfgang Fuchs, Fernando Grillo, MEV (Musica Elettronica Viva), Dagmar Krause, Tim Hodgkinson, Chris Cutler, Otomo Yoshihide, Giorgio Battistelli, Danilo Rea, Markus Stockhausen.[8]
