Mariscal Gamarra District is one of the fourteen districts of the Grau Province in Peru.[1]

Geography

One of the highest peaks of the district is Q'illu Q'asa at approximately 4600m (15,100feet). Other mountains are listed below:[2]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (91.90%) learnt to speak in childhood, 7.40% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[3]
