Marie von Olfers explained

Marie von Olfers (27 October 1826, Berlin – 8 January 1924, Berlin) was a German noblewoman, writer, illustrator and salonnière. She wrote under the pseudonym M(aria) Werner, Werner Maria.

Biography

Born into the noble Olfers family, she was the second daughter of the Ignaz von Olfers, a museum director, and his wife, Hedwig von Staegemann (1799-1871), herself a writer.[1] She also had a major artistic influence on her niece .
