Marie Mesmeur is a French politician of La France Insoumise who was elected member of the National Assembly for Ille-et-Vilaine's 1st constituency in 2024.[1]

Early life

Mesmeur is a native of Landerneau.[2] She was a co-founder of L'Alternative (later Union étudiante), and served as its national secretary for three years.[2] In the 2022 legislative election, she was a substitute candidate for Pierre-Yves Cadalen in Finistère's 2nd constituency.[3] She was a candidate for the European Parliament in the 2024 European Parliament election.[4]

On the 9th of November 2024, the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, announced  on the X platform that he had decided to report to the courts a message posted on the social network by Marie Mesmeur in connection with the serious incidents that took place in the Netherlands, on the sidelines of the football match between Ajax Amsterdam and the Israeli club Maccabi Tel-Aviv.https://www.lemonde.fr/societe/article/2024/11/10/violences-a-amsterdam-bruno-retailleau-signale-le-tweet-d-une-deputee-lfi-a-la-justice_6385878_3224.html
