The Majesty Building is an 18-story, 3000000NaN0 office building located at 123 East Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, Florida.

The building is notable for remaining under construction since its inception in January 2001. For more than a decade, it remained a building shell (bare floors and support beams). Given its proximity to Interstate 4 and towering appearance, it became widely known as the I-4 Eyesore[1] or Eyesore on I-4.[2] The building's passing resemblance to one from the Disney Channel show Phineas and Ferb and proximity to Disney World has led to another nickname: Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc.. [3] [4] [5] Glass windows that enclosed the shell were later installed.[6]

History

Claud Bowers (CEO of the religious independent TV station WACX SuperChannel 55) commissioned the building, which is slated to hold broadcasting studios, along with office and retail space. The building has been financed without debt, with the help of donors and partners. The project's cost is estimated to be over $40 million.[7]

Construction began in January 2001.[8] In 2003, Bowers stated that the building's construction would be completed by the end of the year. The project's completion date was later reported to be 2007, then moved back to 2017, and again pushed back to late 2018.[9]

Construction resumed in 2018. At the end of summer 2019, the adjacent I-4 Ultimate project was cited as a source of additional delays. Construction continued with an expected completion date of fall 2022.[10] [11] Construction of the Majesty Building was still ongoing in November 2022.[12]
