The Maduru Oya Dam is an irrigation dam built across the Maduru Oya. The embankment dam measures 1090m (3,580feet) in length, 41m (135feet) in height, and creates the Maduru Oya Reservoir. The reservoir has a catchment area of 453km2 and a storage capacity of 596000000m2[1] The proposed Maduru Oya Solar Power Station is to be built over the surface of the Maduru Oya reservoir.[2] [3]
