Maciej Wincenty Musiał (born 22 January 1952) is a Polish politician and physicist. He was the Chief of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland from 2000 to 2001, the voivode of the Greater Poland Voivodeship from 1999 to 2001, and the voivode of the Poznań Voivodeship from 1997 to 1998.

Biography

Maciej Musiał was born on 22 January 1952 in Poznań, Poland. In 1973, he graduated from the Faculty of Physics at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. From 1975 to 1990, he worked in the Wood Technology Institute in Poznań.[1] [2]

In 1980 he joined the Solidarity trade union. In 1981, following the enactment of the martial law in Poland, he was one of the organisers of its provisional board of the Greater Poland Region, and in 1989 became the regional deputy chairperson. The same year he was also the director of the Poznań division of the Solidarity Citizens' Committee, during the 1989 parliamentary election.[1] [2]

He was the director of the voivodeship office in Poznań from 1990 to 1996, the voivode of the Poznań Voivodeship from 1997 to 1998, and the voivode of the Greater Poland Voivodeship from 1999 to 2000. From June 2000 to October 2001 he was the chief of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland under the cabinet of Jerzy Buzek.[1] [2]

Later, he thought at the Higher School of Banking in Poznań, and was the board and general director of the Konin Coal Mine from 2006 to 2008.[1] [2] [3]
