Mågålaupet (also written Magalaupet, Maglaupet og Måggålaupet)[1] is a 100m (300feet) long, zigzag-shaped gorge in the river Driva in Oppdal municipality in Trøndelag, Norway.[2] The narrowest point is 1.5m (04.9feet) wide.[3] The depth is estimated at 10m (30feet).
The gorge consists of a series of large interconnected giant's kettles formed by the river Driva since the last ice age. The bedrock in the gorge is hard gneiss,[4] and Driva is eroding it at a speed of per year, equivalent to 10m (30feet) in 10 000 years.
