Lyracrumpane Explained

Lyracrumpane, also sometimes spelled Lyreacrompane,[1] is a townland in the civil parish of Kilfeighny and the historical barony of Clanmaurice in County Kerry, Ireland. It is in the Stack's Mountains area of North Kerry.[2] The townland, which has an area of approximately 3.9km2,[3] had a population of 66 as of the 2011 census.[4]

Lyreacrompane Community Centre was officially opened, in November 2000, by the then Minister of Justice and Law Reform John O'Donoghue.[5] [6] There are a number of Mass path trails in the nearby Coillte wood.[7] The local national (primary) school, Lyracrompane National School,[8] had an enrollment of 15 children as of January 2024.[9]
