Luciano Javier Cabral Melgarejo (born April 26, 1995) is a footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Liga MX club León. Born in Argentina, he is a former youth international for Chile.
Cabral returned to professional football for the 2023 season, after signing with Coquimbo Unido in the Chilean Primera División.[1]
In the second half of 2024, he moved to Mexico and signed with León in the Liga MX.[2]
Cabral represented Argentina at under-20 level in the 2014 COTIF Tournament.[3]
In 2015, he represented Chile at under-20 level in the South American Championship.[4]
At senior level, he was included in the preliminary squad for the 2024 Copa América.[5]
He naturalized Chilean since his grandfather was born in Chile.[6]
In June 2018, he was given a years prison sentence due to he was linked along with his father to a homicide occurred in January 2017 in Mendoza, Argentina.[7] Due to his good behavior, he has worked as an experience teller for the Club Sportivo El Porvenir[8] from San Rafael at the same time he performs as a player.[9] In September 2022, he became on parole.[10]
