Lucía Leticia Méndez Pérez (born January 26, 1955) is a Mexican telenovela and film actress, top model and singer. Méndez was born in León, Guanajuato, Mexico.[1]

Career

In 2011, Lucía starred in Mexico the telenovela Esperanza del Corazón ("Hoping Heart"), with Fernando Allende and the Mexican Broadway star Bianca Marroquín. Also in 2011, she was inducted into the Paseo de las Luminarias (Plaza of the Stars)[2] for her work as a recording artist and in television.

Tension with Madonna

Alleged incident

In 2006, Méndez and her then-boyfriend were present at a Madonna concert in Miami, during the singer's Confessions Tour. The pair were seated in the front row, with Méndez bring the only person seated due to an apparent knee injury. When Méndez could not stand up with everyone else, Madonna allegedly began to forcefully gesture at her to stand. Méndez pointed to her knee to show the singer that she could not stand easily. Reportedly, Madonna grew so irate that she asked security guards to tell her that she had to stand up, to which Lucia shouted, "I'm going to call my lawyer!" Madonna allegedly responded with "Fuck you!" However, this report has not been validated by any parties besides Méndez herself.[3]
