Lucernemines, usually written as Lucerne Mines, is a census-designated place (CDP) in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 937 at the 2010 census.
Lucerne Mines is located at 40.5544°N -79.1556°W (40.554447, -79.155584).[4]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.9sqmi, all land.
As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 951 people, 407 households, and 293 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1105.8sp=usNaNsp=us. There were 427 housing units at an average density of 496.5sp=usNaNsp=us. The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.63% White, 1.05% African American, 0.11% Asian, and 0.21% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.84% of the population.
There were 407 households, out of which 23.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.2% were married couples living together, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.8% were non-families. 25.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.33 and the average family size was 2.76.
In the CDP the population was spread out, with 19.1% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 23.6% who were 65 years of age or older.
