Lucanas District is one of twenty-one districts of the Lucanas Province in Peru.[1]

Geography

One of the highest mountains of the district is Usqunta at approximately 4400m (14,400feet) with an archaeological site of that name. Other mountains are listed below:[2]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (57.23%) learnt to speak in childhood, 42.23% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[3]
