Lorica (chiton) explained

Lorica is a genus of chitons in the family Schizochitonidae.[1]

Species

L. haurakiensis

This rare species is present in New Zealand.[1] [2]

L. volvox

Synonym: Chiton rudis Hutton, 1872 [3] This species can reach a length of about .[4] It is present in Australia (New South Wales).[5]

Extinct representatives

Extinct representatives of the genus are known from the Cretaceous of America and the Eocene & Miocene of Oceania.<
