Ashcroft was a native of Parr, St Helens.[2]
Career
Ashcroft has been regarded as one of the preeminent pre-World War Two women's footballers and an important part of the Dick, Kerr Ladies side which transformed the sport.[3] In total, Ashcroft spent fifteen years playing St Helens Ladies FC and the legendary Dick Kerr Ladies.[4]
Style of play
Ashcroft mainly operated as a full-back.[5]
