List of television channels in Celtic languages explained
Celtic-language television channels are available in any countries, worlds, places, etc. Many speakers of languages like any others to the television channels and languages such as Welsh and Breton have demanded television channels in their own languages for many years and have been successful, with Scottish Gaelic speakers joining them with the launch of Gaelic; Scottish Gaelic: BBC Alba|italic=no in 2008, but languages like Manx and Cornish still don't have a full-time television channel.
Irish language
Current channels
- Irish: [[TG4]]|italic=no (Irish: Teilifís na Gaeilge Ceathair|lit=Television in Irish Four): channel based in the Republic of Ireland and broadcasting to the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Irish: TG4|italic=no has been successful in broadcasting Irish and increasing Irish speakers even though it has a limited budget. Irish: TG4|italic=no is aimed at young speakers of the language with youthful programmes. Irish: TG4|italic=no is funded by advertising and the Government of Ireland with an annual budget of €40 million.
- Irish: [[Cúla 4]]|italic=no: Irish-language children's channel broadcasting on Channel 602 on NTL as part of the Irish: TG4|italic=no franchise. This is a simulcast of TG4 from 07:00 to 19:00.
- Irish: RTÉ|nocat=y|italic=no News Now: 24-hour live news service available on the Irish: RTÉ|italic=no website. It offers a mix of Irish language, English language and Irish sign language TV news bulletins and political programmes.
- Houses of the Irish: Oireachtas|nocat=y|italic=no Channel: is a free-to-air digital television channel in the Republic of Ireland, with live broadcasts from both Irish houses of parliament Irish: [[Dáil Éireann]]|italic=no and Irish: [[Seanad Éireann]]|italic=no in Dublin. It covers parliamentary debates in both Irish and English.
- BBC Two Northern Ireland: has its own Irish-language department producing some well-known programmes such as:
- Irish: Imeall Geall|italic=yes|, (Promise Edge), a music programme for young people
- Irish: Blas Ceoil|italic=yes, (Music Taste) a music programme
- Irish: Teenage Cics|nocat=y, (Cic is "punt", the rugby kick. It's a play on the English "Teenage Kicks"), a youth drama
- Irish: Isteach Chun An Oileáin|italic=yes, (Into The Islands), a documentary
- Irish: Na Dódaí|italic=yes, (The Dodais) a cartoon
- Irish: Gaisce Gnó|italic=yes, (Business Goal) an interior-decor show
- community programme Irish: [[Féile an Phobail]]|italic=yes, (The Community's Festival), community programme that is funded by the Irish Language Broadcast Fund which has been given £12 million over a five-year period.
Scottish Gaelic

- Gaelic; Scottish Gaelic: [[BBC Alba (TV channel)|BBC Alba]]|italic=no ('BBC Scotland'): launched on 19 September 2008, the channel is available around the UK on Sky, Freesat and eventually Virgin Media also. Additionally, subject to the BBC Trust, the channel will be carried on Freeview in Scotland after the digital switchover. Gaelic; Scottish Gaelic: BBC Alba|italic=no broadcasts various genres of programmes serving the Gaelic community, including drama, sport and daily news in the form of Gaelic; Scottish Gaelic: An La|italic=yes.
Welsh language

- Welsh: [[S4C]]|italic=no (Welsh: Sianel Pedwar Cymru|lit=[[Fourth UK television service|Channel Four]] Wales): channel broadcasting to Wales which has been successful in attracting new Welsh speakers. S4C is funded by the government of the United Kingdom and advertising.
- Welsh: [[S4C2]]|italic=no: was a channel which broadcast from the National Assembly for Wales. Welsh: S4C2|italic=no was closed in 2010.
Breton language
- Breton: [[TV Breizh]]|italic=no ('TV Brittany'): channel broadcasting in the Brittany region of France. Programmes in Breton have all been stopped.
- French: [[France 3 Ouest]]|italic=no ('France 3 West'): regional service of the national French: [[France 3]]|italic=no channel, broadcasting mostly in French but with some local opt-outs in Breton.
