List of people executed in the United States in 2024 explained

This is a list of people executed in the United States in 2024. To date, twelve people, all male, have been executed in the United States in 2024, one by nitrogen hypoxia and eleven by lethal injection.^[1] The first person executed in 2024, Kenneth Eugene Smith, became the first person in the United States and in the world to be executed by nitrogen hypoxia.^[2]
