List of interoceanic canals explained

The following is a list of interoceanic canals, that is, canals or canal proposals, which form waterways for traffic to connect one ocean to another.

Panama CanalIsthmus of PanamaThis lock-encumbered canal takes advantage of the Chagres River, used to create Gatun Lake, over the western side of the continental divide[4] [5]
