This is a list of collieries near Newcastle New South Wales, Australia, organised by local government areas.

Newcastle

'A', 'B' and 'C' pits were eventually linked underground becoming simply Wallsend Colliery. In 1916 the colliery manager, Sydney Croudace, retired.[71] It employed 503 miners in 1929 but closed in 1935.[72]
