List of PFC Botev Plovdiv seasons explained

PFC Botev Plovdiv (Bulgarian: „Ботев“ Пловдив), commonly referred to as Botev Plovdiv or simply Botev, is a Bulgarian professional association football club based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, that currently competes in the Bulgarian Parva Liga, the top flight of Bulgarian football. Founded on 11 March 1912, it is the country's oldest active football club.

This is a list of Botev Plovdiv's achievements in major competitions in Bulgarian and European football. It covers all seasons from 1924 (the beginning of competitive football in Bulgaria), to the most recent completed season.

The club has won 2 Bulgarian Championships, 6 Plovdiv City Championships, 4 Bulgarian Cups, 1 Bulgarian Supercup and 1 Balkans Cup.

  5. The Plovdiv City Championship was established in 1924, along with the Bulgarian State Championship. By format, the winner of the Plovdiv City Championship plays a final match against the best team in the region that does not reside in the city of Plovdiv itself. This match determines the champion of the Trakiya (later Plovdiv) Region that then plays in a knockout competition (The Bulgarian State Championship) against teams from the other regions of Bulgaria. This competition determines the Bulgarian Football Champion

Qualification tournaments are set up, with Botev winning qualification through the Plovdiv one. This means the club should remain a member of the top division. However, as CSKA Sofia could not qualify for the division through the Sofiq qualifiers, the football union decides that CSKA should take Botev's place instead. Botev, on the other hand, is sent to the Plovdiv Regional Championship.

  31. Due to a fight among the footballers of CSKA and Levski Sofia in the Bulgarian Cup final of 1985, the title for 1985 was (temporarily) given to the team in third place for that year, Botev Plovdiv, which is why Botev played in the European Cup of 1985 – 86
