List of Italian Athletics Championships winners explained
The Italian Athletics Championships (it|Campionati italiani assoluti di atletica leggera) is an annual outdoor track and field competition organised by the Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera (FIDAL), which serves as the Italian national championship for the sport. It is typically held as a two-day event in the Italian summer around late June to early August. The venue of the championships is decided on an annual basis. The winners have been Italian nationals.
The competition was first held in 1906 and has been held each year since with the exception of 1915–1917, and 1944. The first women's events were held in 1923.[1]
