List of Irish Nobel laureates and nominees explained

Since 1923, Ireland (which consists of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, a constituent part of the United Kingdom) has produced twelve Nobel laureates: two in Physics, one in Physiology or Medicine, four in Literature and five in Peace category.[1]
