Lincoln is a city in Benton County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,144 at the 2020 census.[3]
A post office called Lincoln was established in 1866.[4] The city was named for Abraham Lincoln, sixteenth President of the United States.[5]
Lincoln is located at 38.3922°N -93.3328°W (38.392258, -93.332766).[6]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.98sqmi, of which 0.95sqmi is land and 0.03sqmi is water.[7]
As of 2000 the median income for a household in the city was $25,595, and the median income for a family was $35,217. Males had a median income of $26,667 versus $17,500 for females. The per capita income for the city was $13,803. About 6.1% of families and 10.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 15.4% of those under age 18 and 9.3% of those age 65 or over.
As of the census[8] of 2010, there were 1,190 people, 478 households, and 298 families residing in the city. The population density was 1252.6PD/sqmi. There were 524 housing units at an average density of 551.6/sqmi. The racial makeup of the city was 97.6% White, 0.1% African American, 0.8% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.2% from other races, and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.1% of the population.
There were 478 households, of which 32.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.7% were married couples living together, 10.5% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.2% had a male householder with no wife present, and 37.7% were non-families. 31.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 20.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.96.
