Lilian Hale (born March 7, 2006) is an American politician who currently serves as a member of the Washington House of Representatives from the 19th district, which encompasses Lewis, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Pacific, Thurston and Wahkiakum counties since 2024.[1]
Hale is filling in on Joel McEntire (R-Cathlamet) who is her stepfather temporarily as he reports for military duty. She is currently studying nursing at Lower Columbia College.[2] [3] She was sworn in on Thursday, March 7, 2024, which was also her 18th birthday. She is considered the youngest state legislator in the United States ever to assume office.[4] [5]
Hale is a daughter of Margaret Jean McEntire (née Kaufman) who later married Joel William McEntire. She has two younger siblings and was raised in Cathlamet, Washington. In 2024, she graduated from Wahkiakum High School, and is currently enrolled at Lower Columbia College pursuing a degree in nursing.
Hale assumed office on March 7, 2024 temporarily succeeding her stepfather Joel McEntire, as a member of the Washington House of Representatives in the 19th district.[6]
