Lignères (in French pronounced as /liɲɛʁ/) is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France.

Geography

Lignères is located between L'Aigle and Argentan. The town can be accessed via exit number 16 of the A28 highway, followed by Departmental Road 932 and RD 232.

The Commune is one of 30 communes that make up the Natura 2000 protected area of Bocages et vergers du sud Pays d'Auge.[2] The site is 21,541 hectares in size and consists of a well-preserved wooded landscape that hosts three protected beetles, the European stag beetle, the great capricorn beetle and the Hermit Beetle.[3]

The city is crossed by the Maure River, a tributary of the coastal river La Touques.
