Liberal Alliance of Independent Citizens explained
Liberal Alliance of Independent Citizens (LANO,) is a social liberal Czech political party founded by activist Šimon Hlinovský.[1] The party is running in the 2024 European Parliament election in the Czech Republic.[2]
Ideology
Some of the party's declared goals include:[3]
- Support for European integration
- Bringing more women into politics
- Enforcing the right to vote from the age of 15
- Stopping coal mining, operating coal-fired power plants and replacing them with renewable sources
- Protecting nature and the atmosphere
- Strengthening the fight against smugglers of illegal migrants, terrorism and agents of the Russian Federation
- Cooperation with NATO allies
- The formation of a common European army
- Supporting Ukraine and its admission to the EU and NATO
- Advocating the incorporation of the Kaliningrad Oblast into the Czech Republic after the end of the war
- Approval of same-sex marriage
- Striving for equal rights regardless of sexual orientation, nationality or religion
