Leporinus acutidens is a species of anostomid fish. It is found in the Amazon River basin and Guiana rivers in South America. It has also been reported from Argentina.
Leporinus acutidens can reach a standard length of 33cm (13inches).
Females become sexually mature after two year and males after one year. They reproduce between November and March and females can produce from 100,000 to 200,000 eggs when spawning.
