Norway was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1984 with the song "Norwegian: Lenge leve livet|i=no", written by Benedicte Adrian and Ingrid Bjørnov, and performed by themselves under their stage name Dollie de Luxe. The Norwegian participating broadcaster, Norwegian: [[NRK|Norsk rikskringkasting]]|i=no (NRK), selected its entry through the Melodi Grand Prix 1984.

Norwegian: [[NRK|Norsk rikskringkasting]]|i=no (NRK) held the Melodi Grand Prix 1984 on 7 April 1984 at the Château Neuf in Oslo, hosted by Sissel Keyn Lodding. Ten songs took part in the final, with the winner chosen by voting from five juries separated by age. It was one of the closest MGPs, with only 3 points separating the top four songs.[1]

At Eurovision

On the night of the final de Luxe performed 5th in the running order, following and preceding the . At the close of voting "Norwegian: Lenge leve livet|i=no" had picked up 29 points (the highest an 8 from), placing Norway 17th of the 19 entries.[2] The Norwegian jury awarded its 12 points to .[3]
