Leader Magazine Explained
Leader Magazine was a weekly pictorial magazine[1] published in the United Kingdom. The magazine was first owned by Pearson and then by Odhams. Later it became part of Hulton Press.[2] The headquarters of the magazine was in London.[3] The last issue of the weekly was published on 10 June 1950 and It was incorporated in Picture Post on 17 June 1950.[4]
Contributors included Stephen Potter[5] (editor), Kay Dick[5] (literary critic), Anthony Carson,[5] Orson Welles,[5] Edgar Lustgarten,[5] Lesley Blanch,[6] Leslie Illingworth,[5] Eric Partridge,[5] cartoonist Vicky,[5] Stephen King-Hall.[7] Theatre critic John Barber was also sub-editor at one time.[8] Another drama critic was Herbert Farjeon.[9] Kaye Webb was theatre correspondent from 1947-49.[1] [10]
Other contributors included Denzil Batchelor, Gordon Beckles, Prof. D. W.
