Lawrence S. Cunningham Explained

Lawrence Springer Cunningham (born September 23, 1935)^[1] is an American scholar of Christian theology, author, and essayist.^[2] He is a prolific author and editor of some 25 books, including being the editor on the Christian section of The Norton Anthology of World Religions.^{[3] [4]} He received his PhD in humanities at Florida State University where he served as a professor for 21 years. He also served as a professor at University of Notre Dame for 24 years before retiring in 2012. In May 2011, he received the Christus Magister Medal from the University of Portland.^[5] He has written book reviews as a literary columnist for Commonweal magazine.^[6]
