The Latin Grammy Award for Songwriter of the Year is an award presented annually by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences at the Latin Grammy Awards.

The description of the category at the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards states that it is intended for "songwriters with a minimum of six newly written songs in which they are credited as a songwriter or co-writer and are not the performer, producer or engineer."[1] Singles and tracks from a previous year, instrumental recordings, cover songs, remixes, and interpolation/sampling recordings are not eligible.

The category will be first awarded at the 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2023, alongside two other categories (Best Singer-Songwriter Song and Best Portuguese-Language Urban Performance) that were also introduced said year.[2]

Each year is linked to the article about the Latin Grammy Awards held that year. The nomination or award goes to the producer(s) listed first. The artists and their albums and singles/tracks serve as the work for which the producer(s) received the nomination or award and do not receive the nomination or award themselves.
